Your Life Through Music - Randomly (Part 2)
Posted by Syarif | Posted in Mentally Random Acts | Posted on Tuesday, July 29, 2008
Alright, I've done this before (refer to the post on 25th July 08 below), but the musics that I used before were totally random, and not necessary my favourites. Now, I'm re-playing this stupid game using the playlist that listen to almost everyday; to see whether my "movie" would have a better storyline or not.
The same simple rule: Use you music players, put it on random and put whatever music that is playing on the slots.
The slots are basically a movie of yourself – from the opening credit – to birth – to your funeral and the closing credit.
Im using my WM Player, with about 2 and a half hours of songs listed. So, let’s see (again!) how are the music for my life will be!
Opening Credits: Memikat Hati (Baju Kancing Suasa) by R. Azmi
[Oh crap! I have a sense that this indicates that my life is actually a comedy]
Birth: Sekai Ni Hitotsu Dake No Hana (The Most Beautiful Flower in The World) by SMAP
[Hmmm... Not bad at all. Everyone is unique what the song says... I like!]
First Day At School: Complicated by Avril Lavigne
[A complicated school life... Well, thats what school is all about, right?]
Falling In Love: Zephyr Song by Red Hot Chilli Peppers
[Yeah! Hoho! Just FYI, this is the song that I was humming when I first met Alice. Nice!]
Fight Song: Sempurna by Gita Gutawa
[Oh WTF?!! Although in godfatherly movies, slow songs are used to potrait a fight scene, but not this kind of sappy song! Curse you WM Player!]
Breaking Up: Volare (Fly) by Gypsy Kings
[I guess when you break up, you do want to fly away... And singing while being painted blue? Oh what dream! Note: thats what the song is all about - minus the break up part]
Prom: Hips Don't Lie by Shakira
[Hell yeah! Dance it away girl! Although I don't really dig dancing - even during proms :p ]
Life: Pop! Goes My Heart by Hugh Grant
[I like this song - but seriously, this is another indication that my life is a comedy. Although sounds like a romantic comedy, but a comedy nonetheless! Damn! I want my life to be more like action-adventure.]
Mental Breakdown: Sayang Kinabalu by Kimin Mudin
[Astaga! Ontok di hari tiga, tomu lod Tamparuli, mingusuk po hilod kadai, mogihum dot kasut tinggi - aku mereng... *pengsan*]
Driving: DJ Yang Ku Puja by Che'Nelle feat. Burn
[Oh gosh... a mixed feeling. A love-hate selection...]
Flashback: I'm Gonna Getcha (Good!) by Shania Twain
[Huiyyo... Thats one nasty flashback (again!)]
Wedding: Take Me to Your Heart by Michael Learns to Rock
[Oh... so sweet... Michael... seriously dude, learn rock and not ballad! Although the song is serene, but thats not what I imagine my wedding would be... aiyyy...)
Birth of a Child: Superman by Five For Fighting
[Although the lyrics won't match, but the spirit of wanted to try is there. Yeah, maybe this song would do]
Final Battle: Lagu Untukmu by Meet Uncle Hussain
[Aaaaa? What the hell is this? Can someone tell me what am I fighting again?]
Death Scene: La Camisa Negra (Black Shirt) by Juanes
[..... one phrase: WTF?!!]
Funeral: Time of Your Life by Greenday
[Yes, this is what I'm talking about. Good job WM Player]
Ending Credits: Fantastico (Fantastic) by Frank Sinatra
[Thats it, it IS a comedy]
My personal verdict of my life movie: A crappy comedy with no peaks, nods, or even common sense! I like my previous "movie" better.
Now... I REALLY need to think about my song selection~
The sweet memory
Posted by Syarif | Posted in My Heart Out | Posted on Tuesday, July 29, 2008
To re-read the simple, funny and and full of imagination Japanese comics truly made the sweet memories rushing in.
I remembered when a bunch of us boys showing off in school when we manage to obtain the first copies of the month.
Also with all the efforts of saving our lunch money and collecting cans to be sold- just to keep up with the monthly comics expenses; always bring back a smile to my face.
I miss those days when life is so simple, where by THE ambition and preparation that we made was to obtain the next issue.
I wish I could have that kind of life again...
Bila larut malam

Your Life Through Music - Randomly
Posted by Syarif | Posted in Mentally Random Acts | Posted on Friday, July 25, 2008
Heres another one of those random-act-that-makes-your-live-more-cheerful kinda game.
Simple rule: Use you music players, put it on random and put whatever music that is playing on the slots.
The slots are basically a movie of yourself – from the opening credit – to birth – to your funeral and the closing credit.
Im using my WM Player, with about 7 hours of songs listed. So, let’s see how are the music for my life will be!
Opening Credits: L’Amour by Carla Bruni
[Nice song - peaceful and serene - something like a Mafia Godfather opening]
Birth: Guli Noh Sunduan by Lydia Kalidin
[Uh-oh not good, a sad sappy Sabahan song on by birth]
First Day At School: Can’t Fight the Monlight by Leann Rimes
[Hohoho! Nice one WM Player!]
Falling In Love: Muli Kampung by Linda Nanuwil
[Haik? Another Sabahan number? Okla kot... It does talk a bit about love]
Fight Song: These Boots Are Made for Walking by Jessica Simpson
[Hehehe! Try imagining myself wearing boots walking all over you - wahahaha!]
Breaking Up: Complicated by Avril Lavigne
[Sometimes I do make things complicated...]
Prom: A Puro Dulor by Son by Four
[Oi! My prom should be good la! Why this lagu kena tinggal awek plak? Adoi...]
Life: Hentikan (Dikir Barat Version) by Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia
[DAMN! I regret copying this song into my laptop. Now my life will be all about road safety]
Mental Breakdown: Windu Defrina by White Shoes and The Couple Company
[Hahahaha! I'm turning retro when I go mental?]
Driving: Superman by Five for Fighting
[Note: I DON'T cry while I'm driving]
Flashback: Erase-Replace by Foo Fighters
[Huiyyo... Thats one nasty flashback]
Wedding: Waltzing Matilda by Rolf Harris
[Perhaps I'm having my wedding reception in Melbourne? OZ, OZ, OZ! - Oi, Oi, Oi!]
Birth of a Child: Different Sound by Malte
[A semi techno number - janganla anak aku jadi jinjang]
Final Battle: Mahakarya Cinta by Faizal Tahir
[Hoh! I like! Just like a Godfather movie]
Death Scene: Cuai by Butterfingers
[Yes! Yes! more Godfatherly numbers]
Funeral: Berdiri by Suki
[WTF?!! The world is rejoicing my death?]
Ending Credits: Rap Orang Kita by Abu Bakar Ellah
[OMG! *fainted*]
My personal verdict of my life movie: It started well with a Godfather kinda theme (I've always wanted to be one) got a bit shaky in the middle - and totally sucked at the end.
Gosh... I need to think about my song selection~
The TAG Game
Posted by Syarif | Posted in Mentally Random Acts | Posted on Friday, July 25, 2008
Actually I have dedicated this blog as a PLOG (picture-blog), but recently however I went through Tatty's blog (http://aku-noi.blogspot.com/) and tempted to play the Tag game.
The rule is simple: use your name with a phrase under a double quotation mark (" ") and use a search engine to look up the phrase. I'm using Google (personally; the most powerful search engine on the net) and writing down the first sensible result.
I'm using my common name, Syarif. So... here goes!
Q: "Syarif needs"
A: No results found
Q: "Syarif looks like"
A: No results found
Q: "Syarif says"
A: syarif says so now we all know who's a likely candidate who most likely pa chu ching inside his toilet.. cool.
[what the hell is pa chu ching?]
Q: "Syarif wants"
A: But then after dat, me & syarif wants to stay overnyte at shirin house.. Shab,Budi & Lily come along... All of us slept ard 6 plus...
[shirin... hmmm...]
Q: "Syarif does"
A: Syarif does not talk about his. The old net isn’t much. It’s not very long, nor very wide. It catches small fish which come close to the beach.
[Ohh... poor fisherman...]
Q: "Syarif hates"
A: u have the same birthday as syarif. hates you! hahhaa. enjoy today ! :D ily! we've been through alot . but air dicencang tiada putus kan! :D
[It's not really sensible, the way I see it, this person likes a guy named Syarif, but his/her good friend got the same birthdate with Syarif and he/she is jealous. Wah... dramatic!]
Q: "Syarif asks"
A: Syarif asks for permanent contact person at Indonesian embassy in the Hague for our programme.
[The Hague? Oh... How I wish to go there for work]
Q: "Syarif likes"
A: No results found
Q: "Syarif eats"
A: No results found
Q: "Syarif wears"
A: No results found
Q: "Syarif was arrested for"
A:No results found
[Oh thank God]
Well, it has been fun. But apparently my name is not the famous one on the net - which is quite a relief actually. Hehe!
Neway folks, thanks for dropping by!
